At Home With the Brunswick Women’s Choir on 23 October

After a big year of touring – from Adelaide to Alice Springs, Coburg to Coober Pedy, Daylesford to Darwin – we are back in town! And we’re performing two concerts “At Home” on Saturday 23 October.

“We’ve had enormous fun preparing for this concert,” says Cathy Nixon, the choir’s director. “The repertoire is more upbeat than usual. There’s a lot of texture and percussion and we will be premiering seven new songs from artists such as Indigo Girls, Sweet Honey in the Rock and The Wailin’ Jennys.”

“The Brunswick Women’s Choir is the voice of many who are not heard,” says Lou Bennett (formerly of Tiddas), who collaborated with us on three songs in her traditional Yorta Yorta language. “The women are true to their humanity and active reconciliation. Their singing takes you on a journey – one of sublime depth, always with a question asked, explored, or answered.”

Don’t miss these two concerts, our biggest for the year, showcasing our latest repertoire right at home in Brunswick.
